施巍松 计科院91级杰出院友
施巍松，1995年毕业于西安电子科技大学计算机应用专业（3911班），IEEE Fellow，现为美国韦恩州立大学工程学院副院长，计算机科学系Charles H. Gershenson杰出教授，移动与互联网系统结构实验室主任，智能驾驶实验室主任，校级Mobility项目负责人，美国基金委电动网联自动驾驶技术（eCAT）企业高校联合研究中心主任（筹）。全国第四届百篇优秀博士论文获得者,美国国家科学基金会杰出青年教授奖获得者（NSF CAREER Award）, 2013到2015年间担任美国国家科学基金会(NSF)项目主任, 2012-2016年间担任IEEE计算机学会Internet专业技术委员会主席。现任IEEE计算机学会自动驾驶专业技术社区委员会主席。他是边缘计算这一研究领域的早期提出者之一和倡导者, 2016年发表的“Edge Computing：Vision and Challenges”一文被他引4000多次。是ACM/IEEE国际边缘计算大会（SEC）的创始人，美国基金委边缘计算重大挑战研讨会联合发起人，由他领导编著的《边缘计算》一书2018年由科学出版社出版，是世界第一本关于边缘计算的教科书，该书第二版于2021年3月出版。
报告摘要
The proliferation of Internet of Things and the success of rich cloud services have pushed the horizon of a new computing paradigm, Edge Computing, which calls for processing the data at the edge of the network. Edge computing has the potential to address the concerns of response time requirement, battery life constraint, bandwidth cost saving, as well as data safety and privacy. In this talk, he will discuss the history and start-of-the-art of Edge Computing, and how edge computing has been applied to applications, e.g., Healthcare and CAVs.
